Discus
They are relatively large disc shaped cichlids. Depending upon the
variety, they can reach up to about 6 -10" (15 – 25 cm) in length. They
are the most laterally compressed (flattened) of all the cichlids.
Within each species there is great variety in shading, patterning, and
body types. Discus are native to the South American countries of Brazil,
Peru, Venezuela, and Columbia and are found inhabiting the tributaries
